Operation Christmas Child – Shoe Box Packing November 18 November 14, 2007

After the worship service today in the fellowship room. Lunch will be provided to all who are able to stay and lend us a hand or even two. If you are not able to stay you can still help with this ministry by making a donation to defray the cost of shipping. The cost is $7.00 per box and checks can be made payable to Operation Christmas Child and given to Jim Hydar or to the church office.

 If you have filled shoeboxes bring them on the 18th also!

Alcohol Policy Meeting Tuesday November 20 November 14, 2007

The elders have been investigating the use of wine in communion, and whether to permit beer and wine at events on church property. The Session wants to hear from its members and welcomes your gracious and loving input at a meeting in the church parlor this Tuesday, November 20 at 7:00 PM. Child care will be provided. If you prefer, you may also direct your input to ruling elder Dick Schamp.

 

Thanksgiving Day Worship Service November 22 November 14, 2007

In thanksgiving to God and in love for each other, let us gather for worship on Thanksgiving Day, November 22. We will have a worship service at 10:00 that Thursday morning, with singing and Scripture readings and public sharing of personal thanks to God.

Mort and Jenny Whitman, our Memorial Church missionaries to Romania, will be home for the Christmas holiday, December 13 to January 13. They are in need of housing (house sitting would be best) and a car to use for that short period of time. If anyone can help, please call Roseann in the church office 314.721.0943.

 

Women’s Christmas Brunch-December 1 November 14, 2007

Women of memorial, save the date!! Our annual Christmas brunch is scheduled for Saturday, December 1st from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon. Childcare will be provided. Come to be inspired and refreshed and spiritually prepared for the advent season. Cost for the activities is $12 per person, do not let the cost keep you from attending. We are looking for angels to help with scholarships, so if you can help or need a scholarship, contact Roseann in the church office 314.721.0943.
